The word ‘Nigger'

I hate this word and the way that a lot of black people (MC's, rap artists and hip hop stars) throw this word around like a Gucci belt (I will get to those gassed up Gucci plebs in another blog). We should not be using this word a word that has been used to violently degrade our race for centuries, don’t care how much you tell me this is a reclaimed word by us you’re nuts if you think it so. It’s not a reclaimed word not now not ever. How can something be reclaimed if we are still being violently abused by this same word today. If I had a penny for every time I have been violently abused with this so called reclaimed word ‘Nigger’ I could go spend all that money on copious amounts of Gucci belts (a dig at brainwashed brothers if you’re slow on the uptake).
I read this on the internet:
In his memoir, All Souls, Michael Patrick MacDonald describes how many white residents of the Old Colony housing project in South Boston used this meaning to degrade the people considered to be of lower status, whether white or black
‘Of course, no one considered himself a nigger. It was always something you called someone who could be considered anything less than you. I soon found out there were a few black families living in Old Colony. They'd lived there for years and everyone said that they were okay, that they weren't niggers but just black. It felt good to all of us to not be as bad as the hopeless people in D Street or, God forbid, the ones in Columbia Point, who were both black and niggers. But now I was jealous of the kids in Old Harbor Project down the road, which seemed like a step up from Old Colony...’
We need to stop using the Word nigger like an everyday word we need to stop referring to ourselves as niggers. It’s a destructive word that demeans us bringing us right down to the level of those slave masters (of long ago and today) and their viewpoint of us as inferior and animal like. This was something that was forced upon us this negative, anti-BLACK image of ourselves. Told that are noses where to wide, are lips to big are hair too tough are skin to dark. Richard Pryor the comedian after a trip to Africa said he will stop using the term nigger in his acts this is what he said to be the reason why:
‘I was sitting by myself (in the Nairobi Hilton in Kenya) and I just looked around and it was like a voice said to me,’What do you see?’ And I said,”People of all colors doing things together”.And another voice said ‘Do you see any niggers?’ And I said,’No!’. And the voice said ‘Do you know why?’. And I said(whispering),’No’. And it said,”There aren’t any’.
I believe the reason he said there wasn’t any is because he saw black people there who where proud to be black, and weren't brainwashed with the negative anti black image of us that others are still suffering from today.
